Southampton 3 Boro 0

It was billed as 1st v 3rd...it didn't look like that on the pitch.

Saints have played some awesome football over this season and yesterday was no exception.

Yet again we played 4-4-2 which many teams now frown upon but at home, I feel you always need to play 2 up front. Lambert was still the leading scorer in the Championship but failed to get on the score sheet. I have to admit that he didn't look as hungry as he has in the past, I'm sure he'll find his form again.

The first 20 mins was a master class in attacking and passing football and by the 30th minute we had wrapped up the game with 2 goals by Guly. He was unlucky that he didn't get his Hat Trick as his strike hit the far post.

Guly heads in the 2nd goal

The Saints fans were in awesome voice and they should've have been as there was over 26,000 there and only West Ham have a higher average attendance than us.

At half time there was the usual mass exodus to get a dirty cup of coffee and a random meat product in a bun. The thing that really annoys me at half time is the lack of connectivity on my mobile phone, this restricted me from Blogging from the actual game like I would've liked.

The 2nd Half was much of the same with us playing some fantastic passing football and the 3rd goal, scored by David Connelly, being the result of a 25 pass move!

Overall it was another good day at the office with our 18th straight home win, a record that looks like it will never end!

I would like to pay a massive tribute to Richard Chaplow who looks like a fantastic signing. He can play anywhere in the midfield and displays more energy than I have ever seen in a Saints player. A bargain at a reported £50,000!

I can't make Peterborough on Tuesday night as I have to work but i'm sure we will try them over and at least we can win a game against a Ferguson!

Worst Blogger ever.....

Morning all,

Apologies that I haven't been blogging much recently but I live such a crazy jet set lifestyle that I sometimes forget...

So whats been happening since i've been away?

Well, were still top even though a few teams are nipping at our heels. We got over 32,000 to watch West Ham and got knocked out of the League Cup. Thats pretty much it in a nut shell!

Boro at home today which should be a tough game as they are one of the teams around us.

I'll try and blog from the game today......

Deano signs a contract extension

Dean Hammond has signed a new contract keeping him at St Mary's till 2014.

This is a really good signing as he has put in many good performances for Saints since his move from Colchester 2 years ago.

Glad to see you staying Dean...
